Locations
The conference takes place on 5-6 October 2023. It is generally planned as a hybrid event with a few exceptions (see programme for details). The lectures will take place in person at the Academy building:
Karl-Tauchnitz-Straße 1, 04107 Leipzig
A zoom link for online attendance will be distributed prior to the beginning of the event.
The last presentation on Thursday is combined with a visit to the replica of the Papyrus Ebers in the exhibition room of the University Library. This is a short walk (5 minutes) – directions will be provided.

Transportation
.
Getting to Leipzig
You can get to Leipzig by train or by plane (Leipzig-Halle airport). In both cases, you will end up at the main railway station. As the workshop starts on Thursday morning, it is advisable to arrive on Wednesday, the 4th of October.
Getting to the conference venue from the railway station
Take the S-Bahn (any line that runs on track 1) and get off at the second stop called “Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz”. Leave the station in the same direction that the train is going, turn right at the exit and walk more or less straight (about 8 minutes, through Nonnengasse and at its end along the Martin-Luther-Ring & Karl-Tauchnitz-Str.).
Or take the tram 9 to “S-Bahnhof Connewitz” and get off at the third stop called “Neues Rathaus”. Cross the street to your right and then immediately cross the street to your left.
Getting to the conference venue from the recommended hotel
Take the route shown on the map above.
You can also take the tram, the nearest station is circled in red on the map above: Take tram 8 to Grünau-Nord and get off at the second stop called “Neues Rathaus”. The ticket costs €2,10 (short trip alias “Kurzstrecke”). It will take roughly the same time as walking.
